I Wish I Lived In The 1950's - Part One

Basically, people today shit me and I think that if we all had the same values as we did in the 50's and before (with the exception of Hitler and axe murderers etc...) I personally would be much happier.

1. People are rude
For example - Supermarkets. Sales Assistants (Checkout chicks...) are one of the rudest groups of people EVER! Only yesterday while waiting in line did I see a perfect example of this (prompting me to write this blog) there was a mix up with prices, what the customer wanted to buy was in the wrong place....... so this girl; lets call her 'Amy' doesn't even apologise for the mix up, has an attitude and then when the customer asks why it was in the wrong place says 'How should I know?'. Not to mention all the times that they serve people while carrying on a conversation with the skanky whore 3 registers away and don't even say hello how are you, or when they just plain ignore you or the look on their face that says 'I'm so much better then you' No You're Not!!!!! You Scan Groceries And You Have Bad Skin, Lose The Attitude. Maybe it's my restaurant/ customer service background (seriously I studied it for like 4 years and worked in a restaurant for ........8 years (God thats a long time)) but really it's just common courtesy, what your parents are supposed to teach you and if you can't be a decent member of society then there's no hope.

2. Men
Men were so much better looking, none of this ghetto hair, mullets and whatever other abominations they call hairstyles these days. Polite, neat, excellent cars and with plans for the future (the situation as I understand it from the movies).

3. Music
Music from the 50's was AWESOME, not like the rubbish we get these days (I'm talking of R&B and trance and happy house (still don't know what that is) and rap and everything else I don't like). It had decent lyrics that rhymed (shitty Nelly Furtado song I heard today, rhyming the words alone and want wtf? and she has a nasty voice) and the band members clothes matched and you could dance to it and the people who were doing so weren't doing it in their underwear - don't they have any decency?- and they wrote about nice things, not about shooting people and oral sex and drugs and guns, they wrote about holding hands with your best girl and surfing and their sweet cars.
